Life certainly hasn’t turned out the way I thoug Life certainly hasn’t turned out the way I thought it would, but I’m okay with that!

Late diagnosis, menopause and/or having children with additional needs can all change our lives dramatically when we hit our mid life.

There is a definite period of grief and angst, whilst we adjust, but the path we are given was the path we were always meant to walk.

Save this for those moments of doubt or send to a friend who you know needs to hear it now 🙏🏻

As someone who has been perimenopausal for almost 10 years now, I honestly thought I’d seen it all, I thought the end was near 🤣🤣🤣🤣

What the f**k are the vivid dreams all about?!

Honestly so vivid sometimes I have to take a minute when I wake to reset my brain and tell myself it wasn’t real.

Where sometimes I wake up in tears 😭

Or sometime crying with laughter 😂

Is it just me?!
I’m completely overwhelmed! Six months in and I’m completely overwhelmed!

Six months in and we’re stuck in limbo. Relationships with the builders seems to have completely broken down, so anything decorating, joinery and electrical has not moved forward for pretty much over two months now.

Hi, if you’re new here, I’m Fay, a 51 year old AuDHD perimenopausal mum of 3 in the middle of a grade II listed farmhouse renovation.

We finally got our new oven delivered (brilliant buy from @ebay_uk - well as long as it works LOL) but need the electrician to fit it 🫣

We could move some furniture in to the rooms that are more finished. But most is too heavy for Matt and I to move on our own, so we need to get some help sorted for that.

Bringing some of the furniture would not only free space in the outbuildings, but also mean I could empty the vast majority of the boxes left to unpack, which would be another thing not to have to stress about.

I am in list writing mode, because I can’t sit doing nothing any longer. It’s driving me nuts! There’s a lot of work we can’t do ourselves as we need specialists (even some of the finishing, as we’re listed), but there are some bits we can do ourselves, so I’m prioritising those jobs.

So, once Sam starts back at school and Hen is back at Uni, the plan is:

☑️ Hire van to move last bits from the flat ☑️ Move furniture that can be into house
☑️ Sort what’s left in the outbuilding so easier to access everything
☑️ Unpack anymore boxes that can be
☑️ Buy paint for dining room and paint
☑️ Buy remaining items for downstairs WC and sort plumber to come fit it (and the job of the oven) Luckily the plumber is direct with us, so no issues there.
☑️ Have one last attempt to sort things with the builders and then cut our losses and move on 🫣🫣🫣

It’s all a little much for my ND brain along with working and dealing with Sam’s school avoidance. But I can’t standing nothing for any longer, the chaos is too much.

Send help! And follow along for the laughs 🤪
