Day 238 – Here we go again…

Here we go again…

I think we all hoped and prayed that we wouldn’t have to go into lockdown again, but deep down I think I always knew we would.  It feels different this time though.

This time we know what we are up against (as invisible as it is), we already have precautions in place, even more so than before.  But the difference is we are keeping Schools and Universities open.  So will it really work…

What has changed?

I haven’t written in so long, what with the kids going back to school and being back at work, the last few months have passed in a kind of blur.  It seems to take so much more effort to do just the simple things when they come with so many rules and/or restrictions.  Even just leaving the house has become a military operation, not seen since the boys were babies (I do not miss the days of bottles, wipes, nappies, nappy bags, baby milk, spare baby grow, bibs… the list is endless).  However with the prospect of our second lockdown looming it seemed appropriate to catch up with you all.

How are you?

How are you guys doing? How have you found the last few months coming out of lockdown and what are you feeling now we are right back in?  Have you been furloughed again, or are you working as normal?

I’m back at work and I have to say it has made all the difference to my mental health.  But I’ve noticed something inside me has changed, something happened during lockdown.  I got brave!

I’m much more likely to say how I feel now, to be honest, even if its not always the popular choice.  That’s a bold move for me #peoplepleaser

I’ve also decided to push myself to do things outside my comfort zone.  It hasn’t been easy but I’m working on it.  My first major achievement (and you’ll understand why shortly) was to ‘do’ a podcast.

Whilst on lockdown, as you know, I began writing again and through my writing was introduced to an amazing man called Sid Madge.  Sid is the founder of Meee (My Education Employment Enterprise Programme), using the best creativity and thinking from the worlds of branding, psychology, neuroscience, education and sociology they help people achieve extraordinary lives.

So here it is, my first podcast!  Gosh it’s weird listening to your own voice, I hope you like!  It took 7 attempts just to speak to Sid (anxiety at it’s best!)

Just Meee! Fay Stephenson aka Felicity Finds – From survivor to thriver and inspirer on mental health…I hope you enjoy!  And if you need to talk, then I’m here.
