Life has certainly thrown some challenges at us late diagnosed women and they just keep pilling on 🤪🤪🤪🤪 anyone else feeling the pressure?

Tomorrow I’m off for an MRI lumbar scan due to leg/back pain I’ve been having since the flexible sigmoidoscopy to remove the lovely Peter (the Polyp).

Still haven’t received the results from the biopsy just to be 100% sure that Peter wasn’t the big C 😳🫣

Luckily with back to school it hasn’t given me much time to think about any of it to be honest. Other things to deal with!

Every single day…

Okay so this isn’t meant to be a pity post, just being honest. I’m struggling at the moment. We are ‘back to school’ and while it’s going way better than ever before, it’s not easy. But the hardest thing is I can’t even write about it as it’s being used against my son. My safe place was here and sharing with you guys, but that has gone and I can no longer safely post honestly. I’m gutted as it was how I felt connected and less alone. I haven’t felt this alone in a long time.

I’ve always been horrendous with money, so when I realised in the last few years that it was actually my ADHD. It’s definitely allowed me to be a little easier on myself, but also made me a little bit more determined to sort myself out! Any tips gratefully received 🙏🏻

People with ADHD may struggle with money management for several reasons, including:

1. Impulsivity: People with ADHD often have difficulty controlling their impulses, which can lead to impulsive spending and financial decisions.

2. Poor organization and planning skills: ADHD can make it challenging for individuals to stay organized and plan ahead, which can lead to missed bill payments, late fees, and other financial problems.

3. Difficulty focusing and staying on task: People with ADHD may have difficulty focusing on financial tasks such as budgeting, tracking expenses, and managing investments.

4. Procrastination: ADHD can make it difficult for individuals to start and complete tasks, including financial tasks like creating a budget or paying bills on time.

5. Lack of financial education: Many people with ADHD may not have received proper financial education or guidance, leading to a lack of understanding about basic financial concepts and strategies.

6. Impaired executive functioning: ADHD can affect executive functioning skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, and self-regulation, which are important for effective money management.

7. Co-occurring conditions: People with ADHD may also have co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, or substance abuse, which can further complicate their ability to manage money effectively.

Which one do you favour, or are you like me and use both?! I have always tended to say ‘is autistic’ and ‘has ADHD’ but I really would love to know everyone else’s views/thoughts…
